Design technology aims to develop internationally-minded people whose enhanced understanding of design and the technological world can facilitate our shared guardianship of the planet and create a better world. Using the design cycle methodology, it aims to develop students skill in analysis, design development, synthesis and evaluation. Students learn the inquiry and analysis of problems, how to develop ideas, create feasible solutions, and test and evaluate their success. Whether using cutting-edge technology, including 3D printing, laser-cutting and robotics, or time-honoured techniques, students develop practical and design thinking skills that can be used to develop solutions to problems encountered in all aspects of life.
